The Owner's Insights on the Champion Inverter Cover - Mid Size Open Frame
Champion part C90011, cut for open frame machines from 2800W to 4750W. Water-resistant vinyl outside, cotton lined inside so it doesn't scratch your frame or your panel.
One thing to know before you order: Champion say it fits generators up to 63.5 x 60 x 51.6cm, and it is not designed to go over the wheels. If your machine is on a trolley kit, measure it.
The elastic base pulls it in underneath so wind can't get beneath it and lift it off. Backed by Champion's 1-year limited warranty.

Have you measured yours, including the wheels?
Champion are clear about this one: the cover fits generators up to 63.5 by 60 by 51.6 centimetres, and it is not designed to fit over the wheels. If your machine has a wheel kit fitted, your wheels sit outside the cover rather than under it. That's fine for most people and it's the sort of thing you'd rather know now than when the parcel arrives. Measure the body of your own generator against those numbers first.
Enclosed or open frame, and why it matters
An enclosed inverter is a smooth box. Your open frame machine is an engine in a roll cage, with corners, handles and a fuel tank sticking out. A cover cut for one does not sit right on the other: it either strains at the corners or billows loose enough for wind to take it. This is the open frame cover, C90011. If your unit is the enclosed type, the mid size enclosed cover is the one you need.
What sitting uncovered actually does to a generator
It isn't your running hours that kill a generator, it's the months in between your jobs. Moisture works into your control panel and your alternator windings, dust packs into your air filter and cooling fins, and UV chalks the plastics and perishes your fuel lines. Your open frame machine cops this worse than an enclosed one, because there's no bodywork keeping any of it out. That's exactly why the cover matters more on your kind of unit.
Cool and dry before it goes on
Let your engine cool right down first, because a hot exhaust marks the material and can melt it. And never cover your machine wet, because you've just sealed the moisture in against bare metal, which does more harm than leaving it uncovered. Wipe it down or give it twenty minutes in the air. If yours lives outside all year, lift the cover on a dry day occasionally and let everything breathe.
Water-resistant, and what that word is doing
Champion say water-resistant rather than waterproof, and that's the honest word. The vinyl sheds rain and keeps your machine dry through normal weather, which is the job of a storage cover. It isn't a sealed drum and isn't meant to sit under a downpipe or in a puddle. Park your generator somewhere that drains, and the cover deals with the rest. It's the cover on its own, Champion part C90011 for open frame machines from 2800W to 4750W. It doesn't go over wheels, so measure the body of your generator against 63.5 x 60 x 51.6cm first.
Not Sure Which Generator Accessory Suits You?
This cover suits you if you own a Champion open frame generator between 2800W and 4750W and it lives in a shed, a yard or on the back of the ute. It's the wrong pick if your machine is an enclosed inverter, where the enclosed cover is cut for the shape, or if you need the wheels covered too.
