Cool-J 12,500 Inverter Rooftop Air Conditioner (Super Quiet)

The Cool-J 12,500 is rated for vehicles up to 8 metres, so it'll comfortably cool a full-size caravan, camper trailer, or large work van. It puts out up to 12,500 BTU of cooling and 12,500 BTU of heating, which is serious grunt for a rooftop unit.

Running power draw sits between 750W and 1,500W for cooling (3.5–6.7A), and 590W–1,100W for heating (2.7–4.8A). Because it's an inverter unit, it ramps up and down with demand rather than hammering full power the whole time - easier on your battery or generator.

It's designed to suit standard roof openings of 362 x 362mm or 400 x 400mm, which covers most caravans and vans on the market. The rooftop unit measures 1,056mm x 738mm and sits just 253mm high - a proper low-profile design that won't clip every car park boom gate.

The rooftop unit weighs 42kg, so you'll want a mate on the roof when fitting it. That's pretty standard for a unit this size and capacity - it's built solidly, not a cheap lightweight job.
