Why 5 vents can beat one
A lot of underbunk installs run one short duct straight up near the unit and call it done, which is why the front of the van cools down while the back stays warm. Splitting the airflow across 3 outlets spread through the van gets even cooling instead of one cold spot and two warm ones. It's a bit more cutting and fitting up front for a much more even result every trip after.
