The Owner's Insights on the Floatables Yoga Sun Dock 2.5m

Two and a half metres by one, 11kg, with an anti-slip EVA foam top. It's a stable platform for your yoga on the water, and it doubles as the sunbaking dock everyone else fights over.

The anti-slip surface is what makes it work for yoga rather than just floating. You can go through a full range of movement without your hands or feet skating, which a plain PVC deck will do the moment it gets wet.

It has D-ring connectors on all sides, so you link it to other Floatables docks and build a bigger platform. It's 170kg capacity, so it's a one or two person dock, not a party barge.

Why You'll Love the Floatables Yoga Sun Dock 2.5m

  • 2.5m x 1m platform. Room for a full yoga flow.
  • Anti-slip EVA foam top. Grip when it's wet, not a skating rink.
  • Only 11kg. Carry it down to the water on your own.
  • 170kg capacity. One or two people, comfortably.
  • D-rings on all sides. Link docks and build a bigger platform.
  • BRAVO valve. Quick up, quick down.
  • Bungee stowage on top. Your towel and gear stay put.
  • Underside carry handle. Down to the water in one hand.

Why You Should Consider a Floatables Inflatable Dock

Floatables build inflatable docks and water platforms for the Australian market, and the Yoga Sun Dock is their narrow, stable yoga and paddle platform. See the rest of the inflatable pontoon range.

Why does the anti-slip top matter more than the size?

A wet PVC deck is a skating rink, and that's fine if you're lying on it and useless if you're trying to hold a pose. The EVA foam top gives you grip through your hands and feet even when it's soaked, which is what lets you actually move around on it rather than perching. It's also softer underfoot than bare PVC, so a plank or a downward dog isn't punishing. That single surface choice is the difference between a yoga dock and a floating mat with the word yoga on the box.

Two and a half metres by one, and who that suits

This is a narrow dock, and that's deliberate. It's long enough for a full yoga flow and stable enough to hold a pose on, without being so wide that you can't paddle it out on your own. At 170kg it's rated for one adult comfortably or two sitting, so it isn't the platform for six people and an esky. If that's what you want, look at a bigger lounge instead. What it gives you back is your portability.

Eleven kilos changes how often you use it

Eleven kilograms with a carry handle underneath means you take it down to the water on your own, without planning around it. Compare that to a full-size dock at 25 or 30kg, which needs a hand and a bit of a think. On a piece of gear you want to use before work or on a whim, that difference decides whether it comes out of the shed or stays there. It's also why you can paddle it out yourself rather than launching it off a boat.

The D-rings turn one dock into a platform

Connectors on all sides means you join it to other Floatables docks and build whatever shape you need, and the four-pack of connectors is in the box. Two of these side by side gives you a properly wide platform for a class or for a group. Run a line from a D-ring to an anchor and it stays where you put it, which matters more on a narrow dock because it catches wind and drifts faster than a heavy one.

Looking after yours so it lasts

Two habits do most of the work. Rinse the salt off before yours goes in the bag, because salt crystals grind at the fabric and the seams every time it's rolled. And don't leave it inflated in full sun on a hot day: the air inside expands and the pressure climbs on its own, which stresses seams for no reason. The repair kit is in the box, which is the sort of thing you only need once but need badly. Ring the store on 03 7056 6732 if you want a hand picking between this and a wider dock.

Not Sure Which Inflatable Dock Suits You?

The Yoga Sun Dock suits you if you want a stable, grippy platform for yoga, stretching or sunbaking that you can carry and paddle out on your own. It's the wrong pick if you want somewhere for the whole group to lounge, where a bigger lounge holds six, or if you want to sit half in the water, where a mesh-centre hammock is better.
