What 12.5kVA covers on a real site
Ten kilowatts runs a welder alongside a compressor, site lighting and a set of hand tools. That's a small crew working off one machine without anyone taking turns. As standby it'll carry a workshop, or a house and a shed together. If everything you priced at 8kVA looked like it would be working near its limit, this is the size where it stops.
Do you need the AVR version?
There's a second version of this machine with automatic voltage regulation, and it's worth understanding before you choose. AVR holds the output voltage steady as your load changes. Without it, every time a welder strikes or a big motor starts, the voltage dips then overshoots. Your tools handle that fine. Your chargers and anything with a control board handle it less well over the years. If your loads are steady, this standard version is the same 12.5kVA for less. If they swing constantly, look at the GH12000E-AVR.
Why the genuine Honda engine is the point
Plenty of generators at this size run Honda-pattern clone engines. They cost less and look the same until yours needs a part. A genuine GX630E is supported through the Honda dealer network across Australia, and every small engine mechanic knows it. A clone means chasing an importer while your machine sits idle. 25 litre LRT or 50 litre FBT
The LRT is 25 litres, 130kg and 870mm long. The FBT is 50 litres, 155kg and 1,050mm long. Double the fuel gives you roughly double the unattended run time, which is what matters when your nearest servo is an hour away. The trade is 25kg and 180mm on your tray. If yours stays put, take the FBT. If it moves daily, the LRT is easier to live with.
Moving 130 or 155 kilos
You don't lift this one. Sort out how it comes off the truck, where it lives and how it travels before it turns up in your yard: a trailer, a forklift, or a tray with a crane.
