Have you checked your plugs?
This is the detail worth two minutes of your time. The GH4000 has two 10 amp outlets. The GH4000-AVR gives you a 10 amp and a 15 amp, and a 15A plug will not fit a 10A socket. Go and look at what you actually plug in. If it's all standard 10 amp gear, this version saves you real money. If anything is on a 15A plug, you need the other one.
What 4kW actually covers
Four kilowatts runs a couple of hand tools, site lighting and a small pump at the same time, or keeps a house going through an outage with the fridge, lights and the modem on. Where it stops is a compressor or a welder alongside everything else. Add up what runs at the same time, use running watts rather than startup watts, and leave yourself a margin. If it looks tight, the 6kVA GH5000 is the next step.

Recoil start only, and why that's fine at this size
This one is a pull cord: there's no electric start version. At 50kg with a GX270, that's not the chore it would be on a bigger machine, and it means there's no battery to go flat on you between jobs.
