What 7kW actually covers
Seven kilowatts is proper trade power. It runs a compressor, site lighting and a set of hand tools at once, or a bore pump and a shed's worth of gear on a property. As backup it carries a house: fridge, lights, pumps and hot water. Where it stops is a welder alongside everything else. Add up what runs at the same time, use running watts rather than startup watts, and leave yourself a margin.
Do you need the AVR version?
There's a second version of this machine with automatic voltage regulation, and it's worth understanding before you choose. AVR holds your output voltage steady as the load changes. Without it, every time a motor or a compressor starts, the voltage dips then overshoots. Your tools handle that fine. Your chargers and anything with a control board handle it less well over the years. If your loads are steady, this standard version is the same 8kVA for less. If they swing constantly, look at the GH7000-AVR.
Why the genuine Honda engine is the point
Plenty of generators at this size run Honda-pattern clone engines. They cost less and look the same until yours needs a part.
