Why an inverter costs more than a frame generator
A conventional generator makes your power at whatever the engine is doing and lets the alternator sort it out. An inverter makes power, converts it to DC and rebuilds a clean 240V sine wave from scratch. That's why it's safe for laptops, chargers, TVs and anything with a control board, and why the engine can throttle back when your load is light instead of screaming at 3,000 rpm all day. It's also why the same output costs more here than in an open frame unit.
What 67 dB actually means at a camp
Sixty-seven decibels at 7 metres is about as loud as a conversation at that distance, so you can hear yourself think. An open frame generator of the same output sits around 74 to 80 dB, and every 10 dB is about twice as loud to your ear. Peak power and rated power are not the same

If that leaves nothing spare, you want the next size up rather than this one working flat out.

It's portable in the sense that it has a frame and handles, not in the sense that you'll pick it up. Work out how it gets in and out of your ute, van or camper before it arrives.
