The Owner's Insights on the Pro 100Ah Self-Heating Battery
The Pro 200Ah gets the calls for big off-grid banks, but plenty of you don't need that much lithium in your rig. A single 4WD canopy drawer, a tinnie, a caravan locker with limited depth. That's where the Pro 100Ah earns its keep. It runs the same self-heating BMS as its bigger brother, so your battery keeps charging safely below 5°C instead of shutting down cold, and it's under half the weight at 12.2kg.
Bluetooth's built in too. Pull up the DC Home app and you've got your state of charge, voltage and history on your phone, no separate shunt to fit. Wire up to 8 of these in parallel if your setup grows, though it's parallel-only. There's no series wiring to 24V or 48V here.
Worth knowing before you buy: it's a bare battery, not a power station. No inverter, no AC outlets, and your charge current needs to stay above 4A for the self-heating to kick in. If you want power straight out of the box, one of our power stations suits you better.
Why You'll Love the Pro 100Ah Self-Heating Battery
- Self-heating BMS activates automatically below 5°C Warms your cells before charging starts, so a cold morning doesn't stop your charge.
- Built-in Bluetooth monitoring Check your state of charge, voltage, current and history from your phone via the DC Home app.
- 100A continuous discharge, 245A peak for 30 seconds Enough headroom for your inverter or DC-DC charger pulling hard at once.
- 5,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge A trip every weekend for years, and your battery is still going strong.
- UL94 V-0 flame-retardant casing, IP67 sealed Stops vertical burning from spreading and shrugs off dust and a proper dunking.
- Parallel to 8 batteries, up to 800Ah at 12.8V Bank up your bay for extra capacity without leaving 12V.

Why You Should Consider a Renogy Lithium Battery
Renogy's spent over a decade building 12V lithium gear for Aussie off-gridders. The Pro Series is where that shows most: genuine 100Ah capacity, a self-heating BMS and a 7-year warranty most rivals can't match. Buy it through True Gear and you get local support, not a forum post to an overseas seller. Browse the rest of the Renogy range, or True Gear's other lithium batteries.

How the Pro 100Ah self-heating function actually works
Your Pro 100Ah has a heater built into the case, not a blanket you buy separately. Once your cell temperature drops below 5°C, it kicks in on its own and starts warming your battery, using the charge current you're already feeding it. Give it a stable charge above 4A and your cells climb back past 10°C, the point it switches off again. That's a lower bar than most self-heating batteries need, so it'll run off a smaller solar array or DC-DC charger on your rig. You can recharge it from solar, a DC-DC charger or an AC charger, same as any 12V lithium battery you own.
Fitting the Pro 100Ah into your existing battery box
At 268 x 193 x 205mm, your Pro 100Ah is a compact unit, close to the footprint of a standard Group 27 lead-acid battery. It's usually a straightforward swap into your existing box or tray built for lead-acid or AGM. Check your internal dimensions before you order, with a little clearance for the terminals and lift handles. At 12.2kg you can lift it in and out solo, unlike the bigger batteries in this range.
Renogy Pro 100Ah vs the Pro 200Ah
Both run the same self-heating BMS and Bluetooth monitoring, so your choice comes down to how much capacity you actually need. The Pro 100Ah suits a single canopy drawer, a boat or a compact caravan setup where 1,280Wh a day covers your fridge, lights and phones. Running a full off-grid caravan or cabin, or bigger gear like a microwave alongside your fridge, means you want more in the tank. Step up to the Pro 200Ah instead. Both carry the same 7-year warranty and parallel-only wiring, so you're not trading away safety or expansion, only capacity.
How long the Pro 100Ah runs a 4WD fridge
Work it out from the numbers, not a guess. Your battery holds 1,280Wh. A typical 60L camp fridge averages 50W. That's 1,280 divided by 50, or 25.6 hours. Call it a full day and a bit before you need to top up your battery with solar or the vehicle's alternator. Run a smaller fridge closer to 40W and you're past 30 hours. Renogy rates the 5,000-cycle life at 80% depth of discharge, so plan your daily use around that, not the full tank.

Not Sure Which Renogy Battery Suits You?
Need a plug-and-play power station instead of a bare 12V battery? This isn't it. Have a look at our RV power kits instead. They pair a battery like this one with an inverter and charge controller, ready to go for your rig. Want cold-start reliability without carrying 200Ah of weight in your canopy? This is genuinely one of the lighter self-heating batteries around, and it keeps charging properly below zero without you doing anything about it. One honest flag: at 100Ah it's not built for a full off-grid caravan or cabin system running everything at once, so if you need more headroom, look at the Pro 200Ah instead. Every Pro 100Ah carries Renogy's 7-year warranty, and True Gear backs it with local support if you ever need it sorted.
