The Owner's Insights on the 200W N-Type Solar Panel
Most rigid panels on the market haven't moved on in years. Same old cells, same bulk, same weight on your roof. This Renogy panel is the newer N-Type generation, and you'll notice the difference the second you pick it up.
It's slimmer than the old-style panels too, at 1262 by 764mm, and 10.6kg. About two slabs off your shoulder, not a two-man lift. That matters when you're fitting it to your van roof or a tight spot on your camper trailer.
Under your glass, 16 busbars spread the current more evenly, and the N-Type cells push efficiency to 20.7%. More watts off your roof for the same square metre.
One thing worth knowing before you buy: this is the standard panel, not the shade-fighting one. Is your roof parked under trees most days? Our ShadowFlux panel handles that better. Got a clear run at the sky? This is the one I'd bolt to your roof.
Why You'll Love the 200W N-Type Solar Panel
- N-Type monocrystalline cells, 20.7% efficient More watts off your roof than the older PERC-cell panels still on some shelves.
- 16-busbar cell design Spreads current more evenly across your cells, for steadier output over the life of your panel.
- Compact 1262 x 764mm footprint Fits tight roof space on your van or camper trailer without hanging over the edge.
- 10.6kg anodised aluminium frame Light enough for you to lift solo, solid enough to stay bolted to your roof for years.
- IP65 junction box, IP67 connectors Sealed against dust and rain for a roof that lives outside, not your shed.
- Rated to 2,400Pa wind load and 5,400Pa snow load Built to stay on your roof through genuinely bad weather.

Why You Should Consider a Renogy Rigid Solar Panel

What 16 Busbars And N-Type Cells Actually Change
Busbars are the thin metal strips that carry current off your cells. More of them means shorter paths for the electricity to travel, less resistance, and less power lost as heat. Your panel runs 16, up from the 9 or fewer on older PERC-cell panels, though some newer competitors run more again. N-Type cells add their own edge: less power lost to heat as your roof warms up through the day, and a smaller yearly drop in output. None of it means much on its own. Together, it's why your 200W N-Type panel keeps producing more reliably than a same-rated PERC panel through a long, hot Australian summer.
Wiring the 200W N-Type panel into your system
Your panel comes with solar connectors on 700mm leads straight out of the junction box, the same fitting most 12V and 24V solar setups already use. Run that lead to a solar charge controller rated for your panel's output. An MPPT controller gets more out of your panel than a cheaper PWM unit will. Then it's controller to your battery bank. If the factory lead doesn't reach, an MC4 extension cable sorts that without you splicing anything together yourself.
Mounting the 200W N-Type panel to a caravan or shed roof
Pre-drilled corner holes on your panel are ready for Z-brackets, though the brackets themselves aren't in the box. Most caravan and 4WD owners already have a preferred mounting system, so Renogy leaves that choice to you. Rated to 2,400Pa wind load and 5,400Pa snow load, your panel is built to stay put once it's bolted down. Get your fixings into solid roof structure, not just the skin, and run a bead of sealant around every point.

Not Sure Which Renogy Solar Panel Suits You?
Want a panel that keeps producing under real shade on your roof, a tree branch or a roof vent across part of it? Our ShadowFlux panel is built for exactly that; this standard panel suits your roof if it gets a clear run at the sky. Need to move your power around camp instead of bolting it to your roof? A portable folding panel does that job better for you. One thing to flag honestly: mounting brackets and a solar charge controller aren't in your box, so budget for both. Every panel carries Renogy's 10-year material warranty and 25-year performance guarantee. True Gear adds a 100 Day Free Trial on top, if it's genuinely not right for your setup.
