The Owner's Insights on the 2.56kWh 4WD Off-Grid Power Kit
Most blokes ringing us about a 4WD dual battery setup are standing in the shed, staring at a battery, an inverter and a charger that don't obviously belong together. This one's already sorted for you. Two Core Mini 100Ah batteries, a 50A DC-DC charger and a 2000W inverter with its own transfer switch. Renogy's matched them, so you're wiring one system instead of guessing at four.
The batteries are the bit that'll surprise you. Each one's about the size of a shoebox, 229 x 138 x 213mm and 9.9kg. Two of them tuck behind your seat or under your tray without eating your whole canopy.
Worth knowing before you buy: your monitor here is a plain LCD readout, not the Bluetooth app version. Want your state of charge on your phone? That's a separate accessory. And your inverter's own cover is only 1 year, well short of your battery and charger's 5.
Why You'll Love the 2.56kWh 4WD Off-Grid Power Kit
- Two Core Mini 12.8V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries 5,000 cycles rated, and each one's small enough to tuck behind your seat.
- 2000W pure sine wave inverter with UPS transfer switch Runs your fridge and laptop clean, and switches to battery in under 50 milliseconds if your mains drops out.
- IP67 50A DC-DC and MPPT charger Charges off your alternator on the drive in, or off solar at camp, sealed against dust and water.
- 500A battery monitor with shunt Real-time voltage, current and state of charge, right there on your own screen.
- Matched components, one wiring job Your battery, charger and inverter are picked to suit each other, not bolted together from whatever's on the shelf.
- No Solar configuration Skip the panels and the cost, then add them later if you ever want charging without the engine running.

Why You Should Consider a Renogy 4WD Power Kit

Your warranty here is genuine and component-specific, up to 5 years on the battery and charger, backed by real AU stock and support.

A 4WD dual battery system, done as one kit
Building your own dual battery setup from scratch means sourcing a battery, a charger and an inverter separately. Then hoping they actually suit each other. This kit skips that step for you. Renogy's matched your battery capacity to the charger's output and the inverter's draw, so you're wiring in one system instead of testing four. You'll still need your own cabling, fusing and a mounting tray to get it into your rig. But the part that trips most people up, picking gear that's actually compatible, is already done.
Why we've listed this as the No Solar kit
Renogy sells this same battery, charger and inverter combination with two ShadowFlux solar panels added, for topping up your bank without the engine running. You're looking at the No Solar configuration here because it suits how most of our customers actually run a 4WD: charging off the alternator on the drive in, topped up again next time you're moving. Parked for days at a stretch, or often camped somewhere the vehicle can't reach direct sun? Give us a call and we'll sort your panels for you.
Warranty on this kit, component by component
This isn't one blanket warranty on your kit. It's four. Your battery and your DC-DC charger both carry 5 years. Your battery monitor gets 2 years, and your inverter, 1. Register each component with Renogy after you buy, so your cover's on record if you ever need it. If a claim ever gets complicated, call us and we'll help you sort it with Renogy directly.
What the 50A DC-DC and MPPT charger actually does
Your DC-DC charger is doing the real work in this kit. Drive with the engine running and it pulls up to 50A off your alternator to top up the batteries, using a proper multi-stage charge profile instead of a dumb feed. Park up in the sun and the same unit's MPPT circuit will take a solar input too, up to 720W, if you ever add panels. It's rated IP67, so an under-bonnet or exposed canopy mount genuinely suits it. Your inverter isn't weatherproof: it's IP20, so that one lives inside your canopy, not bolted to the chassis.

Not Sure Which 4WD Power Kit Suits You?
Mostly charging off the alternator on weekend trips? Your No Solar kit is plenty, and you'll save the panel cost. Parked up for days at a time, or camped somewhere the vehicle can't reach direct sun? Ask us about adding the ShadowFlux solar panels. One thing worth flagging: your bundled monitor is a physical LCD readout, not the Bluetooth app version, and your inverter needs a dry, ventilated spot. It's not rated for outside your canopy. Every component carries Renogy's own manufacturer warranty, and we'll back you up sorting a claim if you ever need one.
