The Owner's Insights on the 23.04kWh Off-Grid Power Kit

Off-grid kits like this one are for the bloke who's over relying on powered sites or towing a genny everywhere. Six of Renogy's slimline 300Ah batteries sit side by side and give you 23.04kWh. That's more capacity than most caravans see in a week of hard use. The 3000W inverter runs your microwave, your coffee machine and the camp aircon without flinching. It switches to mains power the second you plug in at a powered site.

Worth knowing: your No Solar kit is the battery bank and the inverter, nothing more. There's no charge controller in the box, so you top the bank up off the alternator or your own DC-DC charger, not the sun. Want the sun doing the work instead? The With Solar option swaps in four batteries instead of six, and bundles in the panels and a 60A MPPT charge controller. Check the specs table before you decide.

This setup suits you if you're away a week or two and charge hard on the drive in. It's not the pick if you're parked a month with the engine cold and no other charge source.

What Customers Say About the 23.04kWh Off-Grid Power Kit

Owners running the Core Mini 300Ah battery report it holding up well over years of hard use. One long-term Aussie 4WD reviewer clocked over a thousand kilowatt-hours through a pair of them without a single fault. The size surprises people too. For a battery this size, it's small enough to fit installs where a standard slab-sized unit won't.

Why You'll Love the 23.04kWh Off-Grid Power Kit

  • Six 300Ah LiFePO4 batteries Give you 23.04kWh total. That's real caravan-and-cabin capacity, rated for 5,000 charge cycles before the bank even starts to fade.
  • 3000W pure sine wave inverter Runs your microwave, your kettle and the camp aircon, with 6000W of surge for gear that kicks hard on startup.
  • Grid priority with 50ms changeover Plug in at a powered site and it switches to mains automatically, then swaps back to battery the moment you unplug.
  • 500A Bluetooth battery monitor Check real voltage, current and state of charge on your phone, not a guess based on how flat the torch feels.
  • Rated for 5,000+ charge cycles A trip most weekends for the best part of a decade before the bank needs replacing.
  • Compact 384 x 194 x 253mm cells Each battery is barely bigger than a carton of beer, so all six still tuck under a bed base or behind a wardrobe.

Why You Should Consider a Renogy Off-Grid Power Kit

Renogy's been building 12V lithium gear for RVs and off-grid setups for well over a decade, and this kit leans on that experience. Automotive-grade cells sit inside every battery, and the inverter is built to run household AC cleanly. Every component here carries its own dedicated Renogy warranty. It's not a brand's first guess at a system. It's parts Renogy already knows work together, so you're not the one finding out whether they do.

What an off grid solar kit needs, and what this one skips

An off-grid solar kit needs three things for your setup: batteries, an inverter, and a way to charge them from the sun. Your No Solar kit deliberately skips that third piece. You get the battery bank and the inverter, sized to run a caravan or cabin properly, and you charge it your way. That might be the vehicle alternator, a DC-DC charger, or a generator on the rare day you need one. Add solar later and you're only buying the panels and the charge controller, not starting again.

No Solar or With Solar: which 23.04kWh kit to pick

Both configurations share the same 3000W inverter, but the battery bank isn't identical. No Solar gives you six 300Ah batteries for 23.04kWh. With Solar trades two of those batteries away for the panels and a 60A MPPT charge controller, so you're down to four batteries (15.36kWh) with the ability to charge from the sun.

No Solar suits you if you charge mostly off the alternator or a DC-DC charger on the drive in. With Solar suits you if you're parked for days, camp somewhere shaded, and you're happy trading some battery capacity for solar input. Check the specifications table before you decide.

Warranty on the 23.04kWh Off-Grid Power Kit

Your kit isn't covered by one warranty term, it's three. The battery bank carries 5 years prorated cover per battery. The inverter gets 1 year. The Bluetooth battery monitor is covered for 2 years. Register each component with Renogy after you buy, so your cover's on record if you need it.

Is a caravan lithium battery kit like this right for a 4WD tourer

This kit's sized for your caravan, camper trailer or cabin rather than a single 4WD canopy build. Six batteries and a 3000W inverter want more room than most tourer fitouts allow. If you're after a dual-battery setup for the tray or canopy, our 208Ah 4WD Expedition Power Kit is the better-sized option.

What's Included (No Solar)

  • 6x Renogy Core Mini 12.8V 300Ah LiFePO4 Battery
  • 1x Renogy 3000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter
  • 1x Renogy 500A Battery Monitor (BT-2) with Shunt and Cables

What's Not Included

  • Solar panels and charge controller (With Solar variant only)
  • Cabling, fuses and mounting hardware to wire the system in
  • Professional installation

Both variants ship as the components listed, ready to wire in, and your battery tray or wiring kit needs sorting separately. The With Solar configuration includes four batteries, not six - see the specifications table above for the full breakdown by variant.

Not Sure Which Off-Grid Power Kit Suits You?

Six batteries and a 3000W inverter is plenty for most caravans and cabins, but it might not suit your setup. Only running lights, a fridge and charging your phones? A smaller Renogy kit will do your job for less. Need three-phase power or a full off-grid home setup? This kit is undersized for that, so talk to us about your setup first. Every component here carries Renogy's own manufacturer warranty on top of your rights under Australian Consumer Law, and we'll back you up sorting a claim if you need one.
