The Owner's Insights on the Core Mini 300Ah Battery
A 300Ah lithium battery usually means two things for you. Serious capacity, and a case too heavy or too big to fit where you actually want it. This Core Mini gets around both. Renogy's packed the same 3,840Wh into a case 31% smaller than a standard 300Ah unit. At 25kg, you can still lift it into your canopy or locker on your own.
Pick it up and the handles are proper rope, not moulded plastic tabs that crack in the cold. The BMS is the real story though. It cuts your charging automatically below 0°C. A frosty night on the Alpine Way won't damage your cells the way it would on a cheaper pack.
Worth knowing before you buy: this is a bare battery, not a plug-and-play power station. No inverter, no Bluetooth app, no screen. You're wiring it into a 12V system you already have, or building one from scratch. Want power out of the box with nothing else to buy? One of our power stations suits you better.
What Customers Say About the Core Mini 300Ah Battery
Other owners keep landing on the same two points. First, how light and compact it is for 300Ah. One reviewer tested it against a typical 100Ah lead-acid battery. It was still lighter, despite holding three times the capacity. Several mention fitting it into a canopy drawer or under-seat space a standard 300Ah battery never would.
The other common thread is value. Owners compare it against other 300Ah lithium packs, most priced well over $1,500. They keep landing on the same word: exceptional value for what you get.
Why You'll Love the Core Mini 300Ah Battery
- 31% smaller than a standard 300Ah battery Fits an 8D or 4D box, a canopy drawer or an under-seat space a full-size 300Ah unit never would.
- 25kg, single-person lift Lighter than a 100Ah lead-acid battery, despite holding three times the usable capacity.
- 200A BMS with low-temperature charge cut-off Stops your charging automatically below 0°C, so a cold night doesn't damage the cells.
- 5,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge A trip every weekend for years, and yours is still going strong.
- 200A continuous discharge, 380A peak Enough headroom for your DC-DC charger, inverter and fridge, all pulling at once.
- Series or parallel to 48V Wire up to 4 in series, 4 in parallel, or mix for a 4S4P bank of up to 16 batteries.

You get A+ grade prismatic cells, RCM certification for the Australian market, and a genuine 5-year warranty behind your purchase. Buy it through True Gear and you get local support, not a forum post to an overseas seller. Browse the rest of the Renogy range, or True Gear's other lithium batteries.

Fitting the Core Mini to your existing battery box
At 384 x 194 x 253mm, your Core Mini is built to Renogy's compact footprint. That's 31% smaller than a standard 300Ah lithium battery. It's the difference between needing a full 8D box and getting away with a 4D. It's also the difference between a battery that won't fit your canopy drawer and one that slides straight in. Measure your box or bay before you order. There's no getting around the 25kg once it's in. A tray or secure strapping matters more than the size does.
Renogy Core Mini vs a 300Ah lead-acid or AGM battery
A lead-acid or AGM battery rated at 300Ah won't actually give you 300Ah usable. You'll get more like half that, once you respect the depth of discharge a lead-acid bank needs to survive. This LiFePO4 pack gives you the full 3,840Wh every cycle. It's rated to 5,000 cycles, not the few hundred you'd get from lead-acid. It's also a fraction of the weight of a lead-acid battery with anywhere near the same usable capacity. You pay more upfront. You stop paying for replacement batteries every few years.
Renogy Core Mini Bluetooth and monitoring
Worth knowing before you buy, if you were picturing an app on your phone: your Core Mini has no built-in Bluetooth. That's unlike Renogy's Pro series. To see state of charge, voltage or cell temperature, pair it with a Renogy 300A battery shunt instead, sold separately. For most caravan and 4WD setups running through an existing charge controller or inverter display, that's not a dealbreaker. If live phone monitoring matters to you, it's a fair reason to step up to the Pro series.
How long a 12.8V 300Ah battery runs a 4WD fridge
Work it out from the numbers, not a guess. Your battery holds 3,840Wh. A typical 60L camp fridge averages 50W. That's roughly 3,840 divided by 50, or 76 hours. It's the better part of three and a half days, before you've topped it up with solar or your vehicle's alternator. Run a bigger dual-zone fridge closer to 60-70W average and you're still past two and a half days. Renogy rates the 5,000-cycle life at 80% depth of discharge. Plan your daily use around 80% of that capacity, not the full tank.

Not Sure Which Renogy Battery Suits You?
Need a plug-and-play power station instead of a bare 12V battery? This isn't it. Have a look at our RV power kits instead. They pair a battery like this one with an inverter and charge controller, ready to go. Building or upgrading your own 12V system and just need the battery? This is genuinely one of the lightest, most compact 300Ah packs on the market. It'll outlast a lead-acid bank many times over. One thing to flag honestly: your Core Mini has no Bluetooth. Budget for a shunt if you want to monitor it from your phone. Every Core Mini carries Renogy's 5-year warranty. True Gear backs it with local support if you ever need it sorted.
