Starting watts and running watts: read both
This is the number people get wrong on every generator. Running watts is what it delivers continuously: 3,000W. Starting watts is the short burst while a motor spins up: 3,750W. Your fridge might run at 150W but pull 600W for a second when the compressor kicks in, which is why both figures exist. Add up your continuous loads against 3,000W, then check your biggest startup surge fits under 3,750W.
What 3,000W runs
Three thousand watts continuous handles a lot of what you'd want in a blackout: your fridge, your freezer, lights, the modem and a couple of appliances.
