The T in AC180T stands for the thing that makes it different: two swappable B70 battery packs instead of one sealed battery. Pull one out, drop a charged one in, and you're going again without waiting.
That changes what it's good for. Solar gets you nowhere on three cloudy days. Spare packs do. If you're somewhere with mains access some of the time and none at others, you charge packs when you can and swap them when you can't.
The number to understand is the output. With both batteries in you get 1,800W. With one in, you get 1,200W. So if you're running a pack out to swap, keep an eye on what you've got plugged in. Why swappable batteries change the maths
Every other station in this class is one sealed battery. When it's flat, you wait, and if there's no sun and no power point, you keep waiting. The AC180T splits its 1,433.6Wh across two B70 packs that come out. Buy a spare, charge it at home or at a powered site, and swap it in when the one in the unit runs down. On a long trip with intermittent power access that's the difference between rationing your fridge and not thinking about it.
What the AC180T will run
With both packs in you're working off 1,800W and 1,433.6Wh, which is about 1,290Wh usable after inverter losses. That covers your 60L camp fridge for about two and a half days, or a coffee machine, a microwave and everything you charge on a weekend. Power Lifting mode stretches to 2,700W for heating elements with no motor: a heater, a hair dryer, a kettle. Run it on one battery and your ceiling drops to 1,200W, so plan the swap around what's plugged in.
Charging it, and charging your spares
Off a wall socket it takes 1,440W and gets to 80% in 70 minutes with one battery in, or an hour and a half with both. Solar tops out at 500W for about two and a half hours in good sun. Off a car socket you're looking at 14 hours on 12V, so treat that as a top-up. Is it easier to move than 26.5kg sounds?
Yes, and that's a side benefit of the design. Twenty-six and a half kilos in one lump is a proper two-hand lift. Pull both B70 packs out and you're carrying the base and two packs separately, which is how most people get it in and out of a vehicle. It's still not a one-hand unit like the AC70P, but it beats a sealed 26kg box.
