The IM makes ice while it is running as a fridge. That is the whole point of it, and it is genuinely useful if you are running drinks at camp or keeping fish on ice.
You give up a bit of room and 1.2kg against the standard 55, because the ice maker lives inside the box. Same 720mm by 455mm footprint on the outside.
Here is the number nobody quotes. With the ice maker running on maintenance it draws 1.21 amp-hours an hour at 12V, against 0.87 for the plain 55. That is 29 amp-hours a day, so a 100Ah battery is closer to three days than five.
Honest bit. If you are not going to use the ice, buy the standard 55, save fifty dollars and get better battery life.

What Size Power Station Runs the CFX5 55IM
With the ice maker running your fridge averages 1.21 amp-hours an hour at 12V, which is about 349 watt-hours a day in 32 degree heat. Same outside dimensions, same 5-year warranty, fifty dollars apart. The IM makes ice and gives up two cans of packing space to do it, and it weighs 1.2kg more. The real cost is power. Running the ice maker takes you from 0.87 to 1.21 amp-hours an hour, which is roughly two days less on a 100Ah battery. Buy the IM if you will actually use the ice. If not, the plain 55 is the better fridge.
Fitting the CFX5 55IM to a Fridge Slide
There are M6 threaded inserts moulded into the base, so you can bolt it to a fridge slide or your drawer system without drilling the shell. The box is 720mm long, 455mm deep and 480mm high, the same as the standard 55. Measure your slide before you order and leave clearance at the back for the vent and the power socket. If a portable box is not the answer and you want a fridge built into the van, look at the RV fridge range instead.
