The Owner's Insights on the Dometic CFX5 95DZ
This is the top of the range and it is a serious bit of kit. 94 litres across two zones, 133 cans, and a freezer and a fridge running side by side for as long as you can feed it power.
It is 962mm long and 530mm deep. Nearly a metre of tray, and 29.5kg before you put anything in it. Measure twice.
It draws 2.83 amp-hours an hour at 12V with the small zone at minus 15 and the big one at 4. Around 68 amp-hours a day, which is most of a 100Ah battery every single day.
Honest bit. Do not buy this without the power to match. If your setup is one 100Ah battery and no solar, you will be flat by the second morning.
Why You'll Love the Dometic CFX5 95DZ
- 94 litres across two zones. The biggest box in the range, with 133 cans of space split however you want it.
- True dual zone. Run a freezer and a fridge at once at different temperatures, all trip, no compromise.
- Two independent lids. Open one side without dumping the cold out of the other, which keeps the draw down.
- Vacuum insulated panels. Dometic builds vacuum panels into the walls, so it holds cold longer on less power.
- Freezes to minus 22 degrees. Either zone can be set anywhere from plus 20 down to minus 22, so you decide the split.
- Bluetooth and the Dometic app. Check both zones from the swag and keep an eye on what it is pulling.

Why You Should Consider a Dometic Portable Fridge
Dometic has been building mobile refrigeration for decades, and the CFX range is the part of the line-up made for touring rather than fixed installs. What matters most to you here is the back end. Dometic backs your CFX5 95DZ with a 5-year Australian warranty, and supports it through a repair network based here. You can see the rest of the range in our Dometic collection.

What Size Power Station Runs the CFX5 95DZ
Running as a true dual zone your fridge averages 2.83 amp-hours an hour at 12V, which is about 815 watt-hours a day. A 1,000Wh power station will not see out a day and a half. Plan on a decent lithium bank plus solar, or mains power at a site, and size it before you order rather than after. If you are not sure what size suits your setup, the Power Station Finder asks you a few questions and gives you a straight answer, or browse the portable power station range.
Dometic CFX5 95DZ vs the CFX5 75DZ
The 95DZ is 19 litres and 20 cans bigger, 70mm longer, 35mm deeper and 1.8kg heavier, and it draws 2.83 amp-hours an hour against 2.45. It costs 100 dollars more. Buy the 95DZ if you are feeding a big group or staying out long enough that the extra 19 litres saves a trip to town. Otherwise the 75DZ is easier to fit and easier to power.
Fitting the CFX5 95DZ to a Fridge Slide
There are M6 threaded inserts moulded into the base, so you can bolt it to a fridge slide or your drawer system without drilling the shell. The box is 962mm long, 530mm deep and 472mm high, and it weighs 29.5kg empty. At that size and weight your slide needs to be rated for it, and you want clearance at the back for the vent and the power socket. If a portable box is not the answer and you want a fridge built into the van, look at the RV fridge range instead.

Not Sure Which Camping Fridge Suits You?
This is the biggest and thirstiest fridge in the CFX5 range, and it only makes sense with the battery and solar to match. The honest limits are size and power. Nearly a metre long, 29.5kg empty, and around 68 amp-hours a day in the heat. Not sure your battery is up to it? If your power setup is modest, the 75DZ or the single zone 55 will serve you far better. Your order ships from Melbourne and your CFX5 carries a 5-year Dometic warranty backed by their Australian repair network. Compare the rest of the camping fridge range, or give us a call and you will get a straight answer, not a script.
