The Owner's Insights on the NRX 130C
The NRX 130C is the biggest compressor fridge in the NRX range, and it's built for people who live in their rig rather than visit it.
126 litres, 812mm tall, 525mm wide. That's a household bar fridge with better shelving and a freezer box you can pull out when you'd rather have the room.
The bit that sells it to me is the shelving. Full height, properly spaced, with a door rack and two crispers. Your food sits how it does at home, so you're not unpacking half the fridge to find the milk.
28kg and tall enough to be awkward. Get a hand with your install and take your time with the levelling.
Who's it for? Full timers and big families. If you camp four or five weekends a year, the 75 litre NRX 80C does the same job for less.
Why You'll Love the NRX 130C
- 3-in-1 cooling. Run it as a fridge, a freezer, or both at once, so your big shop goes in without a second unit.
- Removable freezer box. Lift it out and all 126 litres becomes fridge space when you're stocking up for a fortnight.
- Three compressor modes. ECO, Performance and Quiet let you trade cooling speed against what your battery is doing.
- Full height shelving. A door rack and two crispers keep your family shop sorted rather than stacked.
- Reversible door hinge. Hang your door left or right so it swings clear of your walkway.
- Dual function locks. They hold your door shut on corrugations and double as vents when you park up.

Why You Should Consider a Dometic 12V Fridge
Dometic has built refrigeration for caravans, boats and trucks for decades. The NRX range is where that work has landed. You'll find service agents and spare parts easily here, and there's a three year warranty behind it. That matters more than the sticker on a fridge you'll run for a decade. What the NRX 130C compressor fridge draws
Dometic rates the NRX 130C at 70W on 240V mains. That's your compressor working, not a daily average, because it cycles on and off once the cabinet holds temperature. Off 12V your draw moves with the heat, how full you've packed it and how often the door opens. Quiet mode slows your compressor down. ECO mode is what you use when you're camped and living off your battery.
Fitting the NRX 130C into your cabinet
Your cabinet needs to take 525mm wide, 812mm high and 568mm deep. The rear side is bevelled so it tucks back further than the depth figure reads. You need airflow behind it, and Dometic sells a modular frame for a standard or flush mount finish. The hinge swaps sides, so decide which way your door opens before the cabinet gets built.
What fits inside the 126 litre NRX 130C
126 litres is a fortnight of food for four people. Everything stands up on a shelf where you can see it. Nothing shifts on corrugations and nothing gets buried under three tubs. It's the closest thing to a house fridge you'll get on 12V, and that's the point of it.
Running the NRX 130C off a power station
Planning your battery system around it? Have a look at our portable power stations. A fridge this size is the load worth sizing for first, and everything else in your setup follows.

Not Sure Which Compressor Fridge Suits You?
If you're not living in the van full time, the 113 litre NRX 115C costs less and gives up 13 litres. Going smaller again, the 75 litre NRX 80C suits a couple. The honest catch on all of them is your install: this is a built in fridge, so you need a cabinet, ventilation and 12V wiring done properly. Dometic backs it with a three year warranty, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law sit alongside that. Browse the rest of our RV fridges.
