The Owner's Insights on the Pico 1x1
A swag lives in your ute and gets used. That's the whole argument for one.
The Pico is a swag with the canvas poles taken out. You pump one valve, the frame stands up, and two alloy poles prop the awning over the door. Call it a couple of minutes once you've done it twice.
The mattress is already in it. That's the part I like. No blowing up a separate mat at 9pm, no finding your mat flat at 3am. It's an I-beam design, so it sits flat under you rather than rolling you off the side.
It's polycotton, not nylon, so it's quieter and it won't cook you at sunrise in your own bed.
Who's it for? One bloke, one trip at a time, and it fits your boot without argument. Fishing weekends, a night at the track, chasing work interstate. If you want to sit up and read, get the 2x2 and use the extra width.
Why You'll Love the Pico 1x1
- Integrated I-beam mattress. It's built into the floor, so your bed is made the moment the frame is up.
- Single-point inflation. One valve, one pump, and your whole frame stands up in a couple of minutes.
- Weathershield TC polycotton. The cotton content cuts condensation, so you wake up dry instead of damp.
- Backpack carry bag. Straps on the bag mean you can walk your swag in from the car park or off the bike.
- Sealed doors and windows. Fine mesh on every opening keeps mozzies and sandflies off you all night.
- Awning over the door. Two alloy poles lift a porch over the entrance, so your boots stay dry in the rain.

Why You Should Consider a Dometic Inflatable Swag
Dometic has spent decades building fridges, awnings and camp gear for Australian conditions, and the swags come out of the same shop. Three years of warranty backing and a local spares network sit behind it, which matters on gear you'll pack and unpack a hundred times. See the rest of the Dometic range.

How the Pico 1x1 goes up
You pump one external valve until the gauge hits the green zone at 10 psi, and the frame lifts itself. Then you peg four corners and slot the two alloy poles under the awning. Call it a couple of minutes, not twenty, and your second setup is faster than your first. The mattress runs off a separate valve and takes 2 psi, no more, so go easy on it.
Weathering the Pico before your first trip
Dometic asks you to weather this one before the first trip. Set it up in the backyard, hose it down until it's properly wet, then let it dry right through. The cotton in your stitching swells and seals the needle holes. Skip that step and your first heavy night will find every seam. One wet afternoon at home saves you a miserable one out bush.
How much room you get inside the Pico 1x1
It's 2.55 metres long and 900mm wide, with 900mm of head height at the peak. That gives you a comfortable single bed with room for your bag at your feet. You'll sit up in it, but you won't kneel up. Anyone over about 190cm should measure before buying. Packed it's a 650mm bag at 10.7kg, which drops into a wagon boot beside the fridge.

Not Sure Which Swag Suits You?
If you camp with a partner, skip this one and go straight to the Pico 2x2. The extra 500mm of width is worth the money. The honest catch here is head height. At 900mm it's a sleeping box with an awning, not somewhere to wait out a wet afternoon. Dometic backs it for three years against manufacturing defects, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law sit alongside that. Browse the rest of our camping tents.
