The Owner's Insights on the Core Mini 100Ah Battery
Most customers ask me for the biggest battery they can afford. Sometimes that's the wrong call. If you're running a fridge and lights in a teardrop trailer, a tinnie or a simple camp setup, 100Ah is plenty, and paying for capacity you'll never draw down is money better spent elsewhere.
This Core Mini is the smallest in the range I stock: 229 x 138 x 213mm and 9.9kg. That's roughly half the footprint of the 300Ah I sell, so it slides into a kayak hatch or a tight canopy drawer a full-size battery never would. Pick it up one-handed and it feels like nothing, even after years of lugging AGM units around.
Worth knowing before you buy: it's a bare battery, not a power station. No inverter, no screen, no Bluetooth. You're wiring it into a 12V system, and your charge current tops out at 100A. Running a serious solar array? Step up to the 200Ah, or call us.
What Customers Say About the Core Mini 100Ah Battery
Other owners keep coming back to the same point: how light this is against the AGM battery it replaces. One Australian reviewer built a 12V camping setup around it and rated the built-in BMS protection as the standout, alongside enough grunt for a fridge and lighting through a weekend off-grid.
It's a solid pick for a first lithium upgrade, not the flashiest battery on the market, but one that does the job without drama.
Why You'll Love the Core Mini 100Ah Battery
- Half the case of the 300Ah Core Mini I stock 229 x 138 x 213mm and 9.9kg. Fits a kayak hatch, teardrop trailer or tight canopy drawer a full-size battery never would.
- 1,280Wh in a 9.9kg case Lighter than the lead-acid battery it's replacing, with more usable power to run your gear.
- 100A BMS with automatic low-temperature charge cut-off Protects your cells below 0°C without you doing anything.
- 100A continuous, 300A peak for 5 seconds Runs your fridge, lights and a DC-DC charger together, with room to spare.
- 5,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge A weekend trip every week for years before it's anywhere near done.
- Wire up to 4 in series or 4 in parallel (4S4P) Scale to 48V or build a bigger bank as your setup grows.

Why You Should Consider a Renogy Lithium Battery
Renogy's spent over a decade building 12V lithium gear for Aussie off-gridders, and the Core Mini range is where the case shrinks without cutting corners on the cells inside. You get a genuine 100A BMS and RCM certification for the Australian market, backed by a 5-year warranty. Buy it through True Gear and you get local support, not a forum post to an overseas seller. Fitting the Core Mini 100Ah into a kayak, teardrop trailer or tight canopy drawer
At 229 x 138 x 213mm, your Core Mini 100Ah is the smallest case in the range. It's built for the spaces a bigger lithium battery won't reach: a kayak hatch, a teardrop trailer locker, or a canopy drawer that's already tight on room. Measure your space before you order, with a little clearance around the terminal posts. At 9.9kg it's light enough to install without a second pair of hands, though a tray or strapping still matters once it's in.
Renogy Core Mini 100Ah vs a 100Ah AGM battery
A 100Ah AGM battery won't actually give you 100Ah usable. You'll get closer to half that once you respect the depth of discharge a lead-acid bank needs to survive. This LiFePO4 pack gives you the full 1,280Wh every cycle, rated to 5,000 cycles instead of the few hundred you'd get from AGM. It's also a fraction of the weight for the same case size. You pay more upfront. You stop paying for replacement batteries every couple of years.
Renogy Core Mini 100Ah Bluetooth and monitoring
Worth knowing before you buy, if you were picturing an app on your phone: your Core Mini 100Ah has no built-in Bluetooth. To see state of charge, voltage or cell temperature, pair it with a Renogy battery shunt instead, sold separately. For most kayak, teardrop trailer and 4WD setups running through an existing charge controller or inverter display, that's not a dealbreaker. If live phone monitoring matters to you, it's a fair reason to look at a Bluetooth-equipped model instead.
How long the Core Mini 100Ah runs a 4WD fridge
Work it out from the numbers, not a guess. Your battery holds 1,280Wh. A typical 60L camp fridge averages 50W. That's roughly 1,280 divided by 50, or 25.6 hours. Call it a full day and a bit before you've topped it up with solar or your vehicle's alternator. Run a smaller fridge closer to 35-40W and you're pushing towards two days. Renogy rates the 5,000-cycle life at 80% depth of discharge, so plan your daily use around that, not the full tank.

Not Sure Which Renogy Battery Suits You?
Need a plug-and-play power station instead of a bare 12V battery? This isn't it. Have a look at our RV power kits instead. They pair a battery like this one with an inverter and charge controller, ready to go. Building or upgrading your own 12V system and just need a genuinely compact 100Ah pack? This is the smallest Core Mini I stock, and it'll outlast a lead-acid battery many times over. One thing to flag honestly: your Core Mini has no Bluetooth, and your charge current tops out at 100A. Running a bigger solar array or want phone monitoring? Step up to the 200Ah Core Mini instead. Every Core Mini carries Renogy's 5-year warranty. True Gear backs it with local support if you ever need it sorted.
