The Owner's Insights on the Welling & Crossley WC-P13750 13.75kVA
This is the big one in the range: 13.75 kVA, 11,000W peak and 10,000W rated off a twin-cylinder 688cc engine. It runs your house with everything on, or your site with a welder, a compressor and a crew's tools going at once.
It's an open-frame AVR generator, not a silent inverter, and that's the trade you're making. AVR keeps your voltage steady enough for tools and appliances, and it costs a lot less per watt than an enclosed inverter. It's also under 90 dBA at seven metres, so it's a work machine you put some distance between yourself and.
The 45 litre tank is what people notice: 27 hours at quarter load, which is more than a full day of an outage without you touching it. At 160kg it comes on a wheelbarrow frame with a lift bar, so you can shift it on flat ground or get a machine under it.
Why You'll Love the Welling & Crossley WC-P13750 13.75kVA
- 11,000W peak, 10,000W rated. Your whole house or a full site running at the same time.
- Twin cylinder 688cc engine. Two cylinders share the load, so it runs smoother under heavy draw.
- 45 litre tank, 27 hours at quarter load. A long outage on one fill rather than you refuelling at midnight.
- Four ways to start it. Recoil, electric, wireless remote, or two-wire for an automatic changeover.
- Three IP66 outlets. Two 15A and a 32A, all weather rated, plus USB-A and USB-C.
- Wheelbarrow frame with lift bar. 160kg moves on flat ground and lifts cleanly onto your truck.

What will a 13.75 kVA generator run?
Rated output is 10,000W with 11,000W of peak, which is about as much single-phase power as a house or a small site ever needs at once. That's your air conditioning, your hot water, the kitchen and the pumps together, or a welder, a compressor and several trades' tools on a job. The 32A outlet takes your heavy gear and the two 15A outlets take your ordinary leads, all IP66 rated so the weather isn't an issue.
AVR or inverter: what you're actually buying
This is an open-frame AVR generator. AVR stands for automatic voltage regulation, which holds your output voltage steady as the load changes. That's what you want for tools, motors, pumps and appliances. An inverter generator goes further, producing pure sine wave power, running quieter and using less fuel at low load, but it costs considerably more per watt. If you're running a workshop or a farm, AVR at this price is the sensible buy. If you need quiet or you're running a van full of electronics, look at the inverter range instead.
How loud is it really?
Under 90 dBA measured seven metres away. That's genuinely loud, on par with heavy traffic or a chainsaw at a distance. It's a work generator, not something to run beside your caravan awning or in a suburban backyard at night. Site it away from your windows and your neighbours, and expect to raise your voice standing next to it. If noise matters to you, the enclosed WC-P9000Si runs at 64 dBA for a bit less output.
How long will it run on a tank?
The 45 litre tank gives you 27 hours at 25% load, off Welling & Crossley's own figure of 2.2 litres an hour at that load. Run it near its rating and you'll go through fuel far faster than that, so plan around your real draw. Keep 1.5 litres of SAE 10W-30 and a spare NGK BPR6ES plug on the shelf and servicing looks after itself.
What's Included
- Welling & Crossley WC-P13750 generator
- Wheelbarrow kit with lift bar
- Wireless remote
- User manual
- 2-year manufacturer warranty
What's Not Included
- Fuel
- Extension leads, 15A and 32A plugs
- Changeover switch and house wiring
- Delivery to somewhere a truck can't reach
It takes 1.5 litres of SAE 10W-30 oil and an NGK BPR6ES spark plug, so it's worth keeping both on hand. If you're wiring it into a house or a shed, get a licensed electrician to fit a changeover switch: never backfeed through a wall socket.
Not Sure Which Generator Suits You?
The WC-P13750 suits you if you need serious single-phase power for a farm, a workshop or a whole-house backup, and noise is not your problem. It's the wrong pick for a caravan or anywhere the neighbours are close, where the quieter WC-P9000Si is the better machine even though it gives you less output. It carries a 2-year Welling & Crossley warranty with support here in Australia. Not sure what size you need? Try the Generator Finder, or call the store on 03 7056 6732 and we'll size it with you.
