The Owner's Insights on the Welling & Crossley WC-P3200Si 3200W
This is the camping and caravan end of the Si range. Twenty-three kilos, 64 dBA, and 3,000W rated, which is enough for a fridge, lights, a kettle and your chargers with a bit left over.
It's the one you can actually lift. The bigger models in the range are 57kg and 99kg. This one you carry to the campsite yourself, and it's quiet enough that the people two sites over won't be knocking on your door.
Two things to be clear on. It's recoil start only, so you pull it over rather than turning a key. And 3,000W will run most caravan air conditioners but not with much else going at the same time, so be honest about your load before you order.
Why You'll Love the Welling & Crossley WC-P3200Si 3200W
- 3,200W peak, 3,000W rated. Your fridge, lights, kettle and chargers all at once.
- Pure sine wave inverter. Safe for your laptop, your CPAP and anything with electronics in it.
- Only 23kg. One person carries it from the ute to the campsite.
- 64 dBA at seven metres. Quiet enough for a caravan park without anyone complaining.
- 7.5 hours at quarter load. The 6 litre tank runs your night without you getting up.
- Two IP44 15A outlets. Weather-rated sockets plus USB-A and USB-C for your devices.

What will a 3200W inverter generator run?
Rated output is 3,000W, which covers your camp fridge, your lights, a 2,000W kettle and everything you charge, though not all at the same instant. It runs most caravan air conditioners, but with an air conditioner going you won't have much headroom for anything else. On a job it runs a couple of hand tools or a work light. Because it's an inverter, the power is pure sine wave and safe for laptops, CPAP machines and anything with a circuit board.
Why 23kg matters more than the wattage
Every generator in this range is quiet. This is the only one you can pick up on your own and carry to where you want it. That changes how often you actually use it: a 57kg unit lives in the ute and comes out for emergencies, a 23kg unit goes to the beach, the footy and the campsite. If portability is what you're buying, this is the model in the range that has it.
How long will it run on a tank?
The 6 litre tank gives you 7.5 hours at 25% load, off a consumption figure of 0.45 litres an hour. Quarter load is a fridge, some lights and your devices, which is a normal night. Run the air conditioner and you'll be refuelling well before that. Keep half a litre of SAE 10W-30 and a TORCH A5RTC plug on the shelf and servicing looks after itself.
Recoil start only: is that a problem?
It's a 149cc engine, which is a light pull, and there's no battery to go flat on you. The bigger units in this range add electric and remote start because at 322cc and 688cc you'd want them. On this one the cord is fine, and it means one less thing to maintain. If you want push-button start in a quiet unit, look at the WC-P6000Si.
What's Included
- Welling & Crossley WC-P3200Si inverter generator
- User manual
- 2-year manufacturer warranty
What's Not Included
- Fuel
- Extension leads
- Changeover switch or house wiring
- A cover, if it's going to live outside
It takes 0.48 litres of SAE 10W-30 oil and a TORCH A5RTC spark plug, so it's worth keeping both on the shelf. If you're wiring it into a house or a shed, get a licensed electrician to fit a changeover switch: never backfeed through a wall socket.
Not Sure Which Inverter Generator Suits You?
The WC-P3200Si suits you if you want quiet, clean power you can carry on your own, for camping, a caravan or keeping the essentials alive in a blackout. It's the wrong pick if you want to run an air conditioner and everything else at once, or you need electric start, where the WC-P6000Si is the step up. It carries a 2-year Welling & Crossley warranty. Not sure what size you need? Try the Generator Finder, or call the store on 03 7056 6732 and we'll size it with you.
