What can you actually plug into 2,400W?
The output rating is not about run time, it's about what will start at all. Twenty-four hundred watts continuous with 4,800W of surge covers an angle grinder, a circular saw, a mitre saw or a small air compressor: gear that a 1,000W unit simply refuses. On the run-time side, divide 1,451 by the watts your gear is drawing. A 45W fridge is about 32 hours. A 1,200W kettle is about 70 minutes of total boiling. Your grinder at 2,000W in short bursts will last a working session, not a working day.
NMC or LiFePO4: what you're actually choosing
This uses ternary lithium, which is NMC, rather than the LiFePO4 in the R2500 V2. NMC packs more energy into less weight and less space, which is why this is 21kg for 1,451Wh where the R2500 is 24.5kg for 1,920Wh. What LiFePO4 gives you back is cycle life and heat stability: 3,500 cycles against 2,500, and better behaviour in your hot ute. At 2,500 cycles you still get years of your weekends out of it, so it's a genuine trade rather than a corner cut.
Ninety minutes from flat changes how you use it
Combined wall and solar input pushes up to 2,000W into the battery, which fills it in about an hour and a half. Wall only is about three hours. Most units this size take five or six hours, and that difference decides whether you plan your day around charging or it just happens. Charge yours at a servo over lunch, or top it up from a powered site the morning you leave, and it stops being a thing you think about the night before.
Every output you'll need, and no powerboard
Four Australian 240V outlets is the spec that matters on your site, or at a camp with a group. Two 100W USB-C PD ports charge your laptop at full speed, four USB-A cover phones and lights, and the 12V socket runs your fridge directly without going through the inverter, which is more efficient. Running your fridge on 12V rather than 240V is worth a few extra hours out of the same battery, and it's the easiest saving you can make.
What the UPS mode is for
Plug the S2000 Pro into your wall, plug your gear into it, and if the mains drops it takes over in under 20 milliseconds. Nothing notices a gap that short. That makes it worth having at your place for a computer, a NAS drive, a modem or a chest freezer, not just for camping.
