What would you actually use the extra space for?
Two metres by 1.4 is not a lot on paper, and it changes a surprising amount in practice. It's the spot your fishing gear and your esky live so they're not underfoot. Rinse it and dry it, that's the maintenance
Two habits and yours will last years. Rinse the salt off before yours goes in the bag, because salt crystals grind at the fabric and the seams every time it's rolled and unrolled. And let a little air out if it's sitting inflated in full sun on a hot day, because the air inside expands and the pressure climbs past 2 PSI on its own. Store yours dry and out of the sun.
