The Owner's Insights on the AquaDeck Inflatable Straight Pontoon
This is a long, narrow dock rather than a square platform. Seven or nine metres of it, running alongside your boat, so you can walk the full length while you're loading gear or getting the kids off.
The rubber bumper strip is what makes it worth having. Your hull touches rubber, not fibreglass on hard plastic, so a rough approach in a bit of chop costs you nothing.
Read the size table before you pick. The Large is 7m x 1.8m and takes the most: 9 people and 1,080kg. The Extra Large is longer at 9m but narrower at 1.4m, so it takes 8 people and 1,000kg. Longer isn't always more.

Which size to buy, and why bigger isn't always more
The three sizes aren't just small, medium, large. The Medium is 7m x 1.4m: 7 people, 900kg. The Large is the same length but wider at 1.8m, and that width takes it to 9 people and 1,080kg, the highest capacity of the three. The Extra Large is longer at 9m but back to 1.4m wide, so it holds 8 people and 1,000kg. If you want the most capacity, buy the Large. If you want the most reach along a jetty or a long boat, buy the Extra Large.
Why the bumpers matter
A hard dock has no give in it. Come alongside at an angle on a windy afternoon and your hull takes the mark. AquaDeck run rubber bumpers along the contact edge, and the whole thing is inflatable, so it flexes on impact instead of resisting it. On a boat worth what most boats are worth, that's the feature you'll be glad of the first time somebody misjudges the approach.
Five minutes to floating
The 240V electric pump comes in the box, not as an extra, and it's five minutes to full on any of the three sizes. Recommended pressure is 1.5 to 2.0 PSI, so don't over-inflate it chasing stiffness. Packed down it's a bag around 50 x 50 x 66cm and 34 to 45kg depending on size, which two people manage comfortably.
Mooring it properly
There are mooring points on the top surface and underneath. The underneath points take your anchor lines and hold the pontoon's position; the top points take your boat's lines and anything else you're securing. Between them you can set it up against a jetty, on an anchor in open water, or off the back of a moored boat, without improvising.
Straight pontoon or jetski dock?
They're different shapes for different jobs. This one is a long walkway for boats, people and gear alongside. The electric pump and the carry bag both come with it, so it's ready on day one. It's a 240V pump though, so plan how you'll run it if you're inflating away from the house. Worth adding an anchor and rope to suit your spot.
