The Owner's Insights on the Bartlett 4m x 2.5m Jetski Inflatable Pontoon

Docking a ski onto a hard plastic dock is a two-person job with a lot of swearing. This one is a soft, stable inflatable platform with cut-outs shaped for the hull, so you drive on, step off, and nothing gets scratched.

It takes two skis and six adults, and it comes in two shapes. The T-shape has one central bay and suits a tight mooring or a spot where you're short on width. The E-shape has two bays plus more deck around them, which is what you want if you're launching two skis regularly or you want somewhere for people to stand.

Both are drop-stitch double wall fabric at 4 to 5 PSI, so they're firm underfoot rather than wobbly. Both pack into a 55 x 45 x 30cm bag with the pump and the repair kit, which fits in a ute tray and stores in the shed over winter.

Why You'll Love the Bartlett 4m x 2.5m Jetski Inflatable Pontoon

  • Takes two jet skis. Drive them on and step off, no scraping the hull on a hard dock.
  • Six adults on deck. The whole crew fits without one end going under.
  • T-shape or E-shape. One bay for a tight spot, or two bays with more deck around them.
  • 20 to 22 D-rings. Moor it, lash it down, or tie your gear off wherever suits.
  • Drop-stitch double wall fabric. Firm under your feet at 4 to 5 PSI, not a wobbly lilo.
  • Packs to 55 x 45 x 30cm. It fits in most ute trays and stores in the corner of your shed.

T-shape or E-shape: which one to buy

The T-shape gives you one bay off the middle of the deck. It's the tighter footprint and the cheaper option, and it's the right pick if you have one ski or you're working with limited water. The E-shape has two bays with deck between and around them, which means both skis nose in independently and you still have room to walk. It's also got more grab handles and D-rings. If you run two skis, or you want the platform to double as somewhere to sit, get the E.

Why an inflatable dock instead of a hard one

A hard plastic dock is rigid, which sounds like a good thing until your ski comes in at an angle. Inflatable decks give a little on contact, so a slightly rough approach costs you nothing instead of a scuff down the hull. They're also 26kg rather than a fixed installation, so the whole thing packs away over winter and comes out again in November. The trade-off is that you inflate it each time, which is a start-of-day job with the supplied pump.

Is it firm enough to stand on?

Yes, and that comes down to the fabric. Drop-stitch construction runs thousands of threads between the top and bottom skins, so at 4 or 5 PSI it holds flat instead of bulging under your weight. Six adults is the rated capacity and it walks like a floating jetty rather than an air bed. The grab handles matter here too: 7 on the T-shape, 10 on the E, and they're what you hold while you're climbing back on.

Mooring it and setting it up

There are 20 D-rings on the T-shape and 22 on the E, running around the perimeter. That's what you use to anchor it, tie it to a jetty, lash your gear down, or join it to another Bartlett deck. The hand pump is in the box and inflating it is a start-of-day job. Two of you carry it to the water easily, and one person can drag it on grass.

  • Electric pump, if you'd rather not use the hand pump

Not Sure Which Inflatable Pontoon Suits You?

The jetski pontoon suits you if you're launching and docking personal watercraft and you're sick of hard docks marking the hull. It's the wrong pick if what you actually want is standing room for people, where the Deck Extender gives you a clean rectangle and takes twice as many adults.
