This one is a straight 4 by 2 metre floating deck with no cut-out, and that's the point of it. It's the piece you add to a V Deck or another Bartlett to double your floor space, or you run it on its own as a swim and fishing platform.
Twelve adults is the rated capacity, which is more than the V Deck of the same size because there's no docking groove taken out of it. Drop-stitch fabric at 4 to 5 PSI means it's firm to stand on, not a wobbly lilo, and the kids can bomb off it all day without you worrying.
It's 28kg and packs into a 55 x 45 x 30cm bag with the pump and repair kit. Two of you carry it, one of you can drag it on grass, and it lives in the shed over winter rather than taking up a mooring.

Extension or standalone platform?
Both, and that's what makes it useful. Joined onto a V Deck it turns a 4 by 2 docking platform into an 8 by 2 deck, so your boat still noses into the V and everyone else has somewhere to sit. On its own it's a clean rectangle for swimming, fishing or sunbaking, with nothing cut out of it. Most people who buy two Bartlett decks buy this as the second one.
Why 12 adults on this and 8 on the V Deck?
Same size, same fabric, different shape. The V Deck has a groove cut into one end to cradle a boat, and that costs it deck area and buoyancy. The Deck Extender is a full rectangle, so there's more of it in the water holding people up. If what you want is standing room rather than a docking point, this is the better buy of the two.
Is it firm enough to stand on?
Yes, and it's the construction that does it. Drop-stitch fabric runs thousands of threads between the top and bottom skins, so at 4 or 5 PSI it holds flat instead of bulging under your weight. Walking on it feels much closer to a floating jetty than an air bed. The six grab handles give people something to hold while they climb back on after a swim.
Setting it up and packing it down
The hand pump is in the box and inflating it is a start-of-day job. Getting it to the water is easier than 28kg sounds because of the handles along the sides, so two of you carry it or one can drag it across grass. Packed it goes into a 55 x 45 x 30cm bag, which fits in most boots and stores in the corner of a shed over winter.
