The Owner's Insights on the Reunion 5x5
The 5x5 is the one I'd point most families at, with one condition. Its highest point is 1.6 metres, so nobody stands up inside it.
Get past that and the numbers are hard to argue with. A 2.85 metre square floor sleeps five, and the whole thing packs into a 700mm bag at 14.2kg. That's a boot, not a roof rack, for a five-person tent.
Setup is a single valve. You pump one external point, the frame lifts itself, then you peg the corners and slot the aluminium pole under the canopy. An Australian owner called the setup and pack-down easy, and reckoned the integrated fly was the thing that sold him.
Leave the flysheet off on a warm night and you're sleeping under mesh. Clip it back on when the weather changes.
Who's it for? Families of four or five doing weekends and school holidays. Living out of it for a month? Go polycotton instead.
Why You'll Love the Reunion 5x5
- Single-point inflation. One valve raises your whole frame, so your tent stands before the kids have unbuckled.
- Weathershield REDUX polyester. Woven from recycled plastic bottle yarn, keeping your tent at 13.2kg without losing strength.
- Clip-on waterproof flysheet. Off for airflow and a view of the stars, on when the rain arrives.
- Rear storage area. A dedicated space at the back keeps your gear out of your sleeping space.
- QuickPitch guying system. Peg the bottom strap, pull the buckle, and your guys tension in seconds.
- Integrated front canopy. A single aluminium pole lifts 450mm of shelter over your door for boots and chairs.

Why You Should Consider a Dometic Inflatable Tent
Dometic has been building fridges, awnings and camping gear for Australian conditions for decades, and the tents come from the same engineering. Three years of warranty backing, spares you can actually get here, and a repair kit already in your bag. On a family tent that lives in the boot every school holidays, that support is worth more than a cheaper price tag. See the rest of the Dometic range.

What fits inside the Reunion 5x5
Your inner floor is 2.85 metres square. That's five mats side by side, or four mats and room for the bags. Add 450mm of canopy at the front and 450mm of storage at the rear and the footprint runs 3.75 metres. Peak height is 1.6 metres, so it's a crawl-in tent. Five adults is the paper rating; four is where it's comfortable.
How small the Reunion 5x5 packs down
Packed it's 700 x 300 x 300mm and 14.22kg in the bag. Two people lift it easily, one person manages it. The hand pump is in the box and it works. An electric pump is the upgrade worth making, because it turns your setup into a one-minute job. Running a fridge at camp? Have a look at power for camping.
Looking after the Reunion 5x5
No weathering needed on this one. The REDUX polyester seams are ready straight out of the bag, unlike the polycotton Santorini. Set it up at home once anyway, so you learn the order before you're doing it in a carpark at dusk. Dry it fully before storage after a wet trip and keep it loose in the bag rather than crushed.
Reunion 5x5 or Reunion 4x4
The Reunion 4x4 is the same tent 500mm smaller in every direction, with a 2.35 metre square floor and 1.56 metres of height. Drop down to it if you're a family of three or four and boot space is tight. Stay on the 5x5 if you want somewhere to stack the bags, or a fifth bed for a mate's kid.

Not Sure Which Family Tent Suits You?
If it's just the two of you, this is more tent than you need and a swag packs far smaller. Go the 5x5 when you're camping with three or four others for a few nights. The honest catch is height. At 1.6 metres you crawl in, and getting dressed is a sitting job. If standing up matters, the Santorini 2x4 gives you 2.05 metres of head height. Dometic backs it for three years against manufacturing defects, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law sit alongside that. Browse the rest of our camping tents.
