Why 3,000W is the line that matters
Most portable power stations sit between 1,000 and 2,000 watts, and that rules out the things people actually want to plug in: a kettle, a toaster, an induction plate, a heat gun, a decent circular saw. At 3,000W you stop checking the label on everything before you plug it in. If your list is phones, lights and a fridge, you don't need this much and you shouldn't pay for it. If it includes anything that heats or cuts, this is where the range starts.
What 2,048Wh gets you in real terms
Take a normal camp: a 12V fridge pulling around 60W on average, LED lights, phones, a laptop and a camera. That's roughly 1,000 to 1,500Wh a day. Buying the extra battery: now or later?
