The Owner's Insights on the Hyundai HYPS2400 Portable Power Station

Two thousand four hundred watts and 1,843Wh, in a 20kg box you carry with one hand. That's enough to run a fridge, lights, tools and everything you charge, without fuel, fumes or noise.

The cells are LiFePO4 rated over 2,000 cycles to 80% capacity. That's the chemistry that lasts: charge it every week for years and it's still holding most of what it started with.

It has UPS mode with a switchover under 10 milliseconds, which is the feature people overlook. Plug your modem, your computer or a fridge through it and a blackout doesn't interrupt anything.

Why You'll Love the Hyundai HYPS2400 Portable Power Station

  • 2,400W AC output. A fridge, tools and everything you charge.
  • 1,843Wh LiFePO4 battery. Over 2,000 cycles at 80% capacity.
  • UPS mode under 10ms. A blackout and your computer never notices.
  • 1,500W solar input. Enough panels to fill it in a day.
  • Dual 100W USB-C ports. Charges your laptop, not just your phone.
  • Wireless charging pad on top. Drop your phone on it, no cable.
  • Wall, car and solar charging. Three ways to fill it, wherever you are.
  • 20kg, 430 x 275 x 300mm. One hand, into the car or the shed.

What UPS mode actually does for you

Plug the power station into the wall, then plug your gear into the power station. It passes mains through and keeps the battery topped up. When the power drops, it switches to battery in under 10 milliseconds, which is faster than your computer, your modem or a fridge compressor can notice. For a home office, a NAS, a security system or a fish tank, that's the difference between an outage being an inconvenience and being a problem. Most portable power stations can't do it.

What 1,843Wh gets you in real terms

A 12V fridge pulling around 60W on average uses about 1,400Wh a day, so on its own this runs a camp fridge for roughly a day and a bit. Add lights, phones and a laptop and you're closer to a day. With solar out, it stops being a countdown. Where it drops fast is anything that heats: a kettle, a toaster or a heat gun will pull hundreds of watt-hours in minutes, so budget for those separately.

Why LiFePO4 and 2,000 cycles matter

Two thousand cycles at over 80% capacity means you can charge and discharge it weekly for the better part of forty years, or daily for more than five, and still have most of the battery. Cheaper power stations use lithium-ion chemistry that fades noticeably after a few hundred cycles. LiFePO4 is heavier for the same capacity, which is part of why this weighs 20kg, and it's also the safer chemistry. On something you'll own for a decade, that trade is worth making.

1,500W of solar input is a lot

Plenty of power stations this size cap solar at 400 or 500W. This one takes 1,500W, which means with a decent array you can fill it inside a couple of hours of good sun rather than trickling all day. That's what turns a power station from a thing you charge at home into something that genuinely runs off-grid. It takes 18 to 25V at up to 20A, so match your panels to that before you buy them.

Is this the right size for you?

Be honest about your list. If it's phones, a laptop and some lights, the HYPS1500 costs a lot less and weighs less. This one earns its place when there's a fridge involved, or tools, or you want proper UPS backup for a home office. If you need to run a kettle or an induction plate, look at a 3,000W station instead. Ring the store on 03 7056 6732 and we'll go through it.

What's Included

  • Hyundai HYPS2400 lithium power station
  • AC charging cable

  • User manual
  • 2-year manufacturer warranty

What's Not Included

  • Solar panels
  • A solar charging cable
  • A protective bag or cover

The AC and car charging cables both come with it, so you can charge from the wall or on the road out of the box. Solar panels and the matching lead are separate: it takes 18 to 25V at up to 20A, so check your panels against that.

Not Sure Which Portable Power Station Suits You?

The HYPS2400 suits you if you want quiet fuel-free power for a camp, a caravan or a home office, with UPS backup and a battery that lasts. It's the wrong pick if your list is just phones and lights, where the HYPS1500 is enough, or if you need to run a kettle and an induction plate, where a 3,000W station is the honest answer. It carries a 2-year warranty. Call the store on 03 7056 6732, or send an SMS to 0476 330 590.
