The Owner's Insights on the OSCAL PowerMax 2400SE

This is the size where a power station properly replaces a small generator. 2,400W of pure sine wave output means your kettle, your microwave and your power tools actually run, one big job at a time, and 2,016Wh keeps the fridge and the lights going for days.

The solar input is the standout at this money. 1,200W is more than most stations twice the price accept, and on a clear day with a couple of panels you're back to full in about two hours. That changes off-grid from rationing to just using it.

Fourteen outlets, including an Anderson and two 100W USB-C ports, so your fridge, lights, chargers and laptop all run at once. And it's 24.45kg, which is a two-hand carry rather than a one-hand one.

Why You'll Love the OSCAL PowerMax 2400SE

  • 2,016Wh, 2,400W output. Your fridge for days, or the kettle when you want it.
  • 4,800W surge. Handles the kick when a motor or compressor starts up.
  • 1,200W of solar input. Flat to full in about two hours on a clear day.
  • 1,500W AC fast charging. Plug it in while you pack and it's ready before you are.
  • Fourteen outlets. Four AC, two 100W USB-C, an Anderson and a 12V socket.
  • 3,500+ LiFePO4 cycles. Charge it daily and you're looking at close to a decade.
  • Wireless charging in the lid. Drop your phone on top, no cable to dig out.
  • WiFi and Bluetooth app. Check your charge without walking back to it.

What 2,016Wh and 2,400W actually run

The capacity decides how long, the output decides what. On 2,016Wh a 60W camp fridge runs well past a day, and with lights and chargers on top a long weekend is comfortable. The 2,400W output is what lets you boil a kettle or run a microwave, which most stations at this capacity can't. Do one big job at a time rather than everything at once: kettle, then coffee machine, then toaster.

Why 1,200W of solar input matters

Most stations this size cap solar input around 400 to 600W. This one takes 1,200W, which means a clear day and a couple of decent panels bring it from flat to full in roughly two hours. Practically, that's the difference between rationing power on a long trip and simply using it, because the station refills faster than you empty it. See the portable solar panel range to pair it up.

What 3,500 cycles works out to

A cycle is one full charge and discharge. At more than 3,500 cycles, charging it every single day gives you close to a decade before capacity drops meaningfully. Most people don't cycle a station daily, so in normal use it'll outlast whatever you bought it for. That's the practical advantage of LiFePO4 over the older lithium chemistries, and it's why the warranty runs to five years.

Fourteen outlets, and why the Anderson matters

Four AC sockets, four USB-A, two 100W USB-C, two DC5521, a 12V cigarette socket and a 120W Anderson. The Anderson is the one worth pointing out: it's the connector Australian 12V gear actually uses, so your fridge or your camp lighting plugs straight in rather than going through an adapter. Between them you're not queuing devices or hanging a powerboard off the side.

Is this the right size for you?

Buy it if you want to leave the generator at home: it runs hungry gear, backs up your house through a blackout, and does it silently. It's overkill if your loads are lights and phone charging, and it's heavy at 24.45kg if you're counting every kilo. Not sure where you sit? Try the Power Station Finder, or call the store on 03 7056 6732 and we'll size it against your gear.

What's Included

  • OSCAL PowerMax 2400SE
  • AC charging cable (1,500W fast charge)
  • Solar charging cable (MC4 to XT60)
  • Car charging cable (12V/24V)
  • DC5521 cables (x2)
  • Anderson adapter cable
  • Quick start guide and warranty card
  • 5-year warranty
  • 100 Day Free Returns

What's Not Included

  • Solar panels
  • An expansion battery
  • A carry bag or cover

The cable kit is unusually complete: mains, solar, car, both DC5521 leads and the Anderson adapter are all in the box. Panels are the only thing you'll want to add, and with 1,200W of input there's plenty of room for them.

Not Sure Which Portable Power Station Suits You?

The PowerMax 2400SE suits you if you're running hungry gear, a microwave, power tools or serious home backup, and you want it silent. It's the wrong pick if your loads are light or you're counting kilos for a hike, where a smaller station does the job for less. It carries a 5-year OSCAL warranty and 100 Day Free Returns. Not sure what size you need? Try the Power Station Finder, or call the store on 03 7056 6732 and we'll work it out with you.
