What the Oscal PowerMax 6000 will run
You're working off 5,000W sustained and 3,600Wh of storage, which is roughly 3,240Wh once you allow for inverter losses. That's a split-system air conditioner and the fridge together for an evening, or a full day of power tools on site. The 9,000W surge is the number that matters for anything with a motor, because a compressor or a bore pump draws several times its rated wattage for the first second. Your 60L camp fridge runs about three days on a single charge.
How the expansion works
The PowerMax 6000 takes up to 15 BP3600 packs at 3,600Wh each, which takes you to 57,600Wh all up. That's genuine whole-home backup territory rather than a long weekend. Most people buy the unit on its own, live with it for a season, and add a pack once they know their real daily draw. Charging the PowerMax 6000
Off a wall socket it takes 2,200W and gets to 80% in 69 minutes, or about two hours to full. Solar tops out at 2,400W for a full charge in around an hour and a half. Run both together and you're looking at 1.44 hours. It also takes a car charge, a petrol generator, or an EV charging station, which is a handy option if you're touring. Is it built to live on a work site?
It's drop resistant to 0.8 metres, dust and splash resistant, and the casing is UL94V-0 fire retardant. It works from -20 to 55 degrees, which covers an alpine morning and a Pilbara afternoon. It isn't waterproof, so it still wants a roof over it in the rain. At 46kg with wheels and top handles it moves on flat ground easily enough, but two people are getting it into a ute tray.
