The Owner's Insights on the Tidle Harbour Y 8.5 Grain
The Harbour Y Grain is the big one, and it's the dock I'd want at my own water's edge. We built it after dozens of customer enquiries about what other pontoons were missing, then put every answer into this one.
It's 8.5m long and shaped like a Y. A 5.5m stem runs out from your bank, then splits into two 3.1m arms. Your boat noses into the V between them, and that V is lined with a rubber bumper. Coming in a bit firm isn't something you need to worry about.
Under your feet is a woodgrain finish with three diamond non-slip pads, over 20cm of drop-stitch PVC. There's no EVA foam for you to fuss over, so it's easy to dry, store and look after. The materials are a step above what most manufacturers use, and you'll see it in the finish the day you unroll it.
Why You'll Love the Harbour Y Grain
- Rubber bumper in the V. Your bow meets rubber between the arms, so a firm landing isn't something to stress about.
- Two arms to hold your boat. The arms sit 60 degrees apart, so your boat is held on both sides while your crew climbs off.
- Woodgrain deck, no EVA. A beautiful timber finish that skips the EVA foam, so it's easy to dry, store and look after.
- Non-slip where you walk. Three diamond pads plus a strip across the join, durable and safe on wet feet.
- Rated to carry 1,100kg. Pumped to 12 to 15 PSI, the 20cm drop-stitch build holds your deck flat and rigid.
- 240V electric pump included. Plug it in at the shed and let it do the work, no arm-busting hand pump.

Why You Should Consider a Tidle Inflatable Pontoon
Tidle is our own range of premium inflatable docks, shaped by dozens of enquiries from Aussie boaties about what they wanted in a pontoon. Every model is 20cm drop-stitch with a three-year warranty. They're sold and backed by True Gear in Australia, so when something needs sorting, you ring a real store and talk to a person.
The Grain Finish Up Close
Grain is the premium Tidle finish, built from materials a step above what most manufacturers use. Here's what your feet actually touch when you step aboard. Your boat touches the rubber bumper lining the V.
The images on this page are AI-assisted mock-ups built from the factory drawing, so the material finishes are a close match but not photographs. For the exact shape and the positions of the D-rings, handles and valve, see the approved drawing, the last image in the gallery.

Tidle Harbour Y Grain pre-order: arriving early December
This one's on pre-order. Stock is due in early December, and your dock ships free from Braeside, Victoria once it lands. Call the store for the latest timing before you order, and you'll get a straight answer.
Using the Harbour Y as an inflatable boat dock
Tie the end of the stem to your bank or jetty post, so the arms face the water. Bring your boat in bow first and let it settle into the V, where the rubber bumper takes the contact. Tie your lines off at any of the 17 D-rings. There's a non-slip strip across the join, so you can walk from either arm to the stem with your esky and rods.
Setting up your floating pontoon
Unroll it on your lawn or the bank, clear of sticks and sharp rocks. Run the 240V electric pump from the box to 12 to 15 PSI, close the valve, and slide it in. Packing up is the reverse. Let it down, roll it up and it goes in the carry bag with the repair kit. It weighs 50kg, so grab a mate for the carry.
Harbour Y or Launch 4: which size you need
Want a long walkway out to deeper water, with room for the whole crew? The Harbour Y is the one. If you just need a spot to nose in one boat, the 4m Launch 4 Grain has the same finish and bumper in a smaller dock. If you're unsure, the pontoon finder sorts it in two minutes.
What's Included
- Tidle Harbour Y 8.5 Grain inflatable dock
- 240V electric pump
- Carry bag
- Repair kit
What's Not Included
- Mooring ropes
- Anchors or ground stakes
- 12V pump for use away from mains power
Mooring ropes and stakes depend on your bank and your boat, so you'll likely use what you already carry. No power at your water? You can add a 12V electric pump that runs off a battery. Ring the store to check your valve fitting first. You can browse the full inflatable pontoon range for other sizes.
Not Sure Which Pontoon Suits You?
The Harbour Y is a big dock at 50kg, and the pump in the box runs on 240V, so plan on power near your launch spot or a 12V pump. It's on pre-order now for early December, with free delivery. Your Harbour Y is covered by a three-year Tidle warranty, on top of your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Call the store on 03 7056 6732 or text 0476 330 590. You'll get a straight answer, not a script.
