The Owner's Insights on the Zero Breeze Mark 2 Air Conditioner Smart Battery

This is the battery built for the Mark 2, at 24V 35Ah, which is 840Wh. It plugs straight into your air conditioner without adapters or guesswork about voltage.

The useful maths: the Mark 2 draws 120W in Sleep mode, so 840Wh gives you roughly seven hours of quiet overnight cooling from one battery. On full it's about three and a half.

It charges while it discharges, so you can run solar or mains into it and keep cooling at the same time. And at 5.5kg it's genuinely portable, not a brick you leave in your van.

Why You'll Love the Zero Breeze Mark 2 Air Conditioner Smart Battery

  • 840Wh at 24V. Roughly seven hours on Sleep mode.
  • Purpose-built for the Mark 2. No adapters, no voltage guessing.
  • Charges while discharging. Cooling doesn't stop to top up.
  • Full charge in 5 to 6 hours. Off the included Zero Breeze adapter.
  • 5.5kg, 50.8 x 21.8 x 5.8cm. Slim enough to slide under a bunk.
  • 12V DC, USB-C 45W and USB-A. It's a power bank between trips.
  • Over 500 charge cycles. Years of summers on the same pack.

How long will it actually cool for?

Do the maths on the Mark 2's draw. On Sleep mode it pulls 120W, so 840Wh gives you around seven hours, which is a night's sleep on a hot one. On full it draws 240W, so you get about three and a half hours. That's your honest picture: one battery covers a night if you run it on Sleep, and covers an evening if you run it hard. If you want a full night on full cooling, or several nights between charges, you want a second battery.

Why the purpose-built battery beats a generic power station

The Mark 2 wants 24V, and this battery gives it 24V directly through the right connector. No inverter, no step-down, no conversion losses eating your capacity, and nothing for you to fumble with in the dark. A generic power station will run yours through the AC adapter, but you lose energy in the conversion and you're carrying two boxes and a lead instead of one slim pack. This one is 5.8cm thick, so it slides under your bunk or into a gear box.

Charging while discharging is the feature that matters

Most batteries make you choose between charging and using them. This one does both. That means you put solar or mains into it in the morning while your air conditioner keeps running, rather than shutting the cooling down for five hours to recharge. On a run of hot days, that's the difference between your system working and it giving up every afternoon.

It's a power bank when the heat drops

The 12V DC jack, a 45W USB-C port and a USB-A port are all built in, so between your trips the same 840Wh runs your laptop, your phones, camp lights or a 12V fridge. That makes it easier to justify than a battery that sits idle nine months of the year. Forty-five watts of USB-C is enough to charge your laptop at a useful rate, not just trickle it.

Five hundred cycles, and what that means over time

This uses 18650 lithium ion polymer cells rated for over 500 charge cycles. Charge yours every weekend of summer and you're looking at many years before capacity drops noticeably. It's a different chemistry to the LiFePO4 in the Mark 3 battery, which is rated much higher, but for seasonal use 500 cycles is plenty. Store yours around half charge over winter rather than flat or full and it will last longer again. Ring the store on 03 7056 6732 if you want a hand working out how many you need.

Not Sure Which Air Conditioner Battery Suits You?

This battery suits you if you own or are buying the Mark 2 and want it running off-grid rather than tethered to mains. It's the wrong pick if you have the Mark 3, which uses its own Mark 3 battery, or if you only ever run on mains power. Call the store on 03 7056 6732, or send an SMS to 0476 330 590.
