The iHider220 is best suited to caravans up to 6.5-7 metres in length. With 10,000 BTU (2,930W) of cooling capacity, it'll handle a standard single or tandem-axle van comfortably - as long as the van is reasonably well insulated. Bigger rigs over 7m may struggle on a really hot day.

How much power does the Cool-J iHider220 use?

Running in cooling mode it draws between 872W and 1,002W - so roughly 1kW at full noise. In heating mode it pulls 1,300-1,405W. Current draw in cooling is around 3.8-4.4A at 240V, which means most generator setups and caravan park powered sites will handle it without drama.

Does the Cool-J iHider220 have a heat pump - can it heat as well as cool?

Yes, it's a reverse-cycle unit so it heats and cools. Heating output is 11,500 BTU and it'll operate down to -7°C outside temperature, so it's genuinely useful year-round - not just for summer camps. The heat pump side is the efficient option; there's also an electric heating element that kicks in when needed.
