What does the 25% efficiency figure actually mean?
Twenty-five percent is the conversion efficiency of the TOPCon cells: a quarter of the sunlight landing on your panel comes out as electricity. It doesn't mean 25% more power than another panel, which is how it's often written. What it does mean is that your panel makes its 160W from a smaller area than an older-technology panel would need, and it holds up better when it's hot. Cell output drops as temperature rises, and TOPCon drops less than the older PERC cells, which matters through your Australian summer.
Three point eight kilos is what makes it get used
At 3.8kg you carry it in one hand and re-angle it whenever you walk past, which is the difference between your panel tracking the sun through the day and it sitting where you dropped it at 9am. Re-aiming twice through the day is often worth more than 20% extra rated output. Anything much heavier and you set it once and leave it, and you lose that gain without ever noticing.
The angle guide is a small thing that helps
Printed on the panel is a guide telling you what tilt to use, which sounds trivial until you realise most people set a panel at whatever angle looks right and lose output for their whole day. Combined with the 30 to 60 degree stand, it takes the guessing out: shallower through summer when the sun is high, steeper in winter when it's low. What 160W actually puts back
Rated output assumes ideal test conditions, so in real sun you'll see somewhere around 125 to 150W at the peak of your day, with a bit more if the ground under yours is reflecting light. Over six useful hours that's roughly 800Wh, which keeps your phones, your lights and your laptop going indefinitely, holds a small camp fridge, or recharges your small power station in a day. If you're charging a bigger station or running tools, step up to the 220W or the 400W.
IP68 and ETFE, and why they matter here
IP68 means sealed against dust completely and rated for continuous immersion, not just a splash. ETFE is the tough clear laminate over the cells that resists scratches and UV, where the cheap PET coating on budget folding panels yellows within a couple of seasons and quietly costs you output. Together they're why this survives living in the back of your 4WD rather than being babied. The one thing that still matters: let yours dry before it goes away, because packing damp is how anything eventually goes off.
