The Owner's Insights on the EcoFlow DELTA 3 (1500) Portable Power Station

Sixteen kilos, 1,536Wh and 1,800W of output. That's the sweet spot for most people: enough to run a fridge, tools and everything you charge, light enough that carrying it isn't a decision you have to make.

Two specs lift it above the price bracket. It's IP54 rated, so dust and splashing won't kill it on you, which almost nothing else in the category can say. And it runs at 35dB under 600W, which is quieter than the fridge you are running.

It charges fully in an hour and a half off mains, has UPS switchover under 15 milliseconds, and carries a five year warranty. Thirteen ports means everything you own plugs in at once.

Why You'll Love the EcoFlow DELTA 3 (1500) Portable Power Station

  • 1,800W across four AC outlets. A fridge, tools and everything you charge.
  • 1,536Wh LiFePO4 battery. 3,000+ cycles and a 5-year warranty.
  • IP54 rated. Dust and splashes won't finish it off.
  • 35dB under 600W. Quieter than the fridge it's running.
  • Full charge in 1.5 hours. Ready before you've packed the car.
  • UPS switchover under 15ms. A blackout and your computer never notices.
  • 13 ports including 2 x 100W USB-C. Laptops, not just phones.
  • Only 16kg. One hand, into the car or the van.

IP54 is rarer than it sounds

Most portable power stations have no ingress rating at all, which means dust and a splash of rain are both a problem for you. IP54 means it's protected against dust and against water splashed from any direction. That doesn't make it waterproof and you still shouldn't leave it out in a downpour, but it does mean a dusty campsite, spray off the beach or a shower while you pack up won't finish it. On something that lives outdoors with you, that's worth more than another hundred watt-hours.

Thirty-five decibels means you forget it's there

Under 600W of load it runs at 35dB, which is quieter than a domestic fridge and close to a quiet room. That matters because the fan noise is the reason people put power stations outside the tent or in a locker, which then means longer cables and more hassle for you. At 35dB it sits beside you while you work or sleep. Push it harder and the fans work harder, which is the honest trade.

What 1,536Wh gets you in real terms

A 12V camp fridge pulling around 60W on average uses roughly 1,400Wh a day. So on its own this runs a fridge for about a day, or a fridge plus lights and charging for an evening and a night. With a few hundred watts of solar going in, it stops being a countdown and becomes a buffer. Where it drops fast is anything that heats: a kettle or a toaster will take hundreds of watt-hours in minutes.

An hour and a half from flat

Full charge in 1.5 hours off mains at 1,500W is fast enough to change how you plan. You top it up while you shower and pack, or during the couple of hours you're on power at a park mid-week. A station that takes six hours gets rationed by you. One that fills in ninety minutes gets used properly. It also charges from a car in two hours on 24V, which suits your long drive between camps.

Is this the right size for you?

This is the one you should look at first. If your list is a fridge, lights, charging, a laptop and the odd power tool, 1,800W and 1,536Wh covers it and you're carrying 16kg rather than 23. If you need a kettle and an induction plate going at once, step up to the DELTA 2 Max at 2,400W. Ring the store on 03 7056 6732 and we'll size it against what you actually run.

What's Included

  • EcoFlow DELTA 3 (1500) portable power station
  • AC charging cable
  • Car charging cable
  • User manual, safety card and warranty card
  • 5-year manufacturer warranty

What's Not Included

  • Solar panels
  • A solar charging cable
  • A protective bag or cover

The AC and car charging cables both come with it, so you can charge from the wall or on the road out of the box. Solar panels and the matching lead are separate: it takes 11 to 60V at up to 500W, so check your panels against that.

Not Sure Which Portable Power Station Suits You?

The DELTA 3 (1500) suits you if you want quiet fuel-free power for a camp, a van or a home office, in something one person carries, with an IP54 rating for real outdoor use. It's the wrong pick if you need a kettle and an induction plate together, where the DELTA 2 Max at 2,400W is the answer, or if your loads are just phones and lights, where a smaller station saves you money. It carries a 5-year warranty. Call the store on 03 7056 6732, or send an SMS to 0476 330 590.
